Smartphone VR as a virtual bridge to learning

Once computer labs were the most dazzling tech at school. Today, there are
several options and among them is Virtual reality (VR). With VR, new ways of
learning and understanding that learning are enabled.

Accessibility and India

Emerging technologies like VR is generally considered as
a high-end sophisticated one, which at the moment, is still not fully accessible
everywhere in India. Making the technology accessible to all could also reduce the intimidation that one often feels when they are interacting with a new tech.
Some of you may have thought of VR as a “gaming thing”. But look what it can do if it is effectively and mindfully used. Noting the need for better accessibility Prof. M.Manivannan says that “we are looking at frugal technology with smartphone.

We call it frugal VR, frugal XR (Extended Reality)” which means technological systems that are low-cost and economical by design. This makes the VR tool ideally usable in all schools, even in rural India where students can access it
